Adventures with a radish
So this was my radish:
I put the coin in there for scale, by the way.
We planted them at the beginning of June and pulled this one up at the beginning of August. There's another one still growing in the garden. My parents were visiting at the time so we gave it a good wash, cut it into four and shared it round. It was fresh and peppery and everything a radish should be.
It probably wasn't much to speak of, after the weeks of worry and care that went into the nurturing of it. But I'm awfully proud. That's the first time I've ever eaten anything that I've grown myself (if you don't count herbs, which I don't).
I have now officially achieved something meaningful.

You're either supposed to go "BOGEYS" or it was a reference to "That's the first time I've ever eaten anything that I've grown myself (if you don't count herbs, which I don't)."

Why a radish? Why not something fun like carrots or aubergines?
