I got a bag and a pair of mittens and four Toblerones and two board games and seven million calendars and a self-help OCD audio cassette and Pete got a Coker.

And we're rather happy about it all. 

The tree is up.

The sofas are installed.

Sainsbury's has been raided and the fridge is bursting with meaty goodness.

Presents have been bought, collected, delivered and stored away.

Pre-Christmas beer is being ingested with satisfactory vigour.

Black Cat has installed himself inside in anticipation of festive treats.

Muppet Christmas Carol is sat at the ready by the side of the DVD player.

The students have gone home and left me to get on with some proper work.

The back bedroom is, I'm sure, positively bursting with all my lovely shiny presents.

The weather's turned a bit wintery.

The work Christmas picnic is scheduled for tomorrow and I have hunted out cocktail sausages for the occasion.

I watched my first bit of proper Christmas telly last night. (Anthea Turner is a very strange lady.)

And there are only 4 more sleeps :D
