I guess it's easier for us because we can just say that women are strange and not worry about it.
I do wonder about this: "I like your detail about how the homemade cookies were covered by the store bought ones. There are deep implications there about heart, home, and love vs. commercialization."
The only implication that I see is that the store bought ones were put on the plate after the others. Not everybody is out to get you! :)
